Delete adult friend finder
The severity of the breach saw the leak of Friend Finder Networks’ source code and public/private key-pairs alongside the databases – which contained email addresses and passwords, stored in plain text or hashed using SHA1 with pepper.
The bemusing and weak encryption habit deployed means that 99% of all websites gained from the Friend Finder Networks databases have been cracked.
CSOOnline reveals that information from the breached databases was circulating online since their compromise in October 2016.
Leaked Source said "this data set will not be searchable by the general public on our main page temporarily for the time being."But as infosec blog put it, "The point is, these records exist in multiple places online.
They're being sold or shared with anyone who might have an interest in them."That's more users than Twitter and a third of Facebook's global membership.
"Immediately upon learning this information, we took several steps to review the situation and bring in the right external partners to support our investigation," the statement said.
The Adult Friend Finder data stretched back 20 years and included information such as usernames, emails, join dates and the date of a user’s last visit, according to Leaked Source.
Both that hack and others in the adult industry, such as the 2015 Ashley Madison breach that exposed data from about 36 million users, pale in comparison to the scale of the latest alleged Friend Finder Networks data dump.
